Cletus B. Mueth (1929 - 2010)
Cletus B. Mueth, 80, of Waterloo, Ill., born September 11, 1929, in Millstadt Township, Ill., died Monday, March 22, 2010, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill. Mr. Mueth was the owner and operator of Building Products Corp., Belleville, Ill., and Swansea Building Products Corp., East St. Louis, Ill. He was a member of the Southern Illinois Masonry Association, the St. Louis Masonry Contractors Association and NCMA. Cletus was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Paderborn, Ill. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Millstadt Council 4741; a member of the Over-50 Club in Millstadt, Ill.; a lifetime member of the Belleville Sister Cities Group; and a member of the Commemorative Air Force. Mr. Mueth was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Martha, nee Neff, Mueth; a sister, Sally Krupp; and a brother, Joseph Mueth. Surviving are his wife of nearly 50 years, Joan M., nee Lopinot, Mueth, whom he married June 18, 1960; four sons, Michael (Rhonda) Mueth of Sheffield, Iowa, Thomas (Karen) Mueth of Eureka, Mo., Paul (Geri) Mueth of Belleville, Ill., and David (Judy) Mueth of Waterloo, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Lori, Andrea, Joshua, Jordan, Kelly, Jason, Jeremy, and Cassi Mueth, Emily and Jon Mueth, and Carson Mueth; a sister, Anna (Clyde) Kreher of Hecker, Ill.; two brothers, Victor (Estelle) Mueth of Waterloo, Ill., and Edward (Evelyn) Mueth of Brighton, Ill.; a brother-in-law, David Krupp of Freeburg, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belleville Diocesan Ministry to the Sick & Aged, to Wings of Hope in Chesterfield, Mo., to the CFCA (Christian Foundation for Children & Aging); or to Catholic Relief Services.
